About: Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant is a San Diego staple. They have been serving the community award-winning food for over 50 years in their Kensington location and are now open in Del Sur.
Objective: To refresh the Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant website that can solve a few of their pain points. The client was looking for a website that would make ordering online or by mobile as simple as possible. They also wanted to have a menu that was easy to use on mobile and directly editable so they could update it whenever needed. Highlighting the community, team and their mission was a strong factor in the design of the website.
Challenge: The client had extensive photo content but lacked copy. I highlighted only key information like their awards, mission, team and menus and leveraged the photos to do the heavy lifting.
Friction Point: To adapt to their growing team, the client needed a website refresh that would include their new location and allow their loyal patrons to place their order online. They also needed a web version of their menu to be mobile-friendly and easily editable to reflect their rotating specials.
Solution: I highlighted each location and provided easy CTA’s so patrons could place their orders more efficiently. I worked closely with their Director of Operations, Mikey Knab, on how I can make their extensive menu as clean and easy-to-navigate as possible with a focus on mobile-first usage. The resulting menus are clean, cohesive, and easy to use.
